The Innovation for Social Impact Partnership (ISIP) project aims to increase the capacity of Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in supporting the growth and improvement of university-based startup enterprises with a clear social impact. One of the ways to achieve this is to bring in international experts through the Visiting Professors Program.

The Visiting Professors Prorgram aims to share knowledge on best practices in entrepreneurship teaching, startup enterprise mentorship, and incubator management. It is also provides a meaningful opportunity for Visiting Professors to be immersed in the entrepreneurship culture in the Philippines’ greater Mindanao area, and contribute to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the host universities.

For 2022-2023, this activity is meant to be implemented remotely through online sessions.

 

What are the qualifications?

What’s in it for you?

As a Visiting Professor, you will provide guidance to your host university in their identified needs in the areas of: (i) entrepreneurship teaching, (ii) startup enterprise mentorship, and (iii) incubator operations. This will be done through workshops, consultation meetings, or mentorship sessions.

This Visiting Professors activity is an avenue for you to further your professional growth. You will be immersed in the entrepreneurship culture in the Philippines and will be given the chance to scale your social impact globally through helping develop the social entrepreneurship landscape in the Philippines.

 

Duration

This will be a one week or a thirty hour online engagement between the Visiting Professor and the Host Philippine University between December 2022 to March 2023.

Prior to deployment, coordination meetings to finalize online workplan and logistical preparation is recommended. Post deployment, a debriefing session will be conducted.

Timeline

  • Deadline for Expression of Interest: October 14, 2022

  • Matching of Visiting Professor with Philippines host university: October to November 2022

  • Online Deployment: December 2022 to March 2023

 

What will be your commitment?

  • To complete a one week or thirty hour online deployment

  • To create a proposed workplan as part of the host university matching process

  • To attend the debriefing activity after the online deployment

  • To submit an end-of-deployment report 2 weeks after the online deployment

  • To submit a blog content 4 weeks after the online deployment

 

List of Host Philippine Universities

Located in the greater Mindanao area and/or in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), there will be five (5) host Philippine Universities for online deployment this 2022-2023. These universities are strategically located in Mindanao and are expected to spur innovation and entrepreneurship in various regions of the Philippines. They all offer entrepreneurship courses or undergraduate programs, and have been operating an academe-based business incubator.  

The list of the Host Philippine Universities will be made available by mid-October to those who shared their Curriculum Vitae and Expression of interest in this website or through isip.ph@undp.org .
